Our Story

In 2015, Lambda Kappa Omega Sorority, Inc. began with just four women who shared one vision—to make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve. We believed that donations should do more than fill warehouses; they should reach the hands of the families who truly need them.

What started as a simple idea quickly grew into a mission. We hosted community bowling parties with free admission. Instead of purchasing tickets, adults were asked to donate diapers, and children were encouraged to bring baby wipes. Those donations became the foundation of our first community outreach efforts.

 Our members then personally delivered diapers, wipes, and other necessities to mothers and families throughout Philadelphia, ensuring that every donation made a direct impact.

Today, what began with four determined women has grown into a national sisterhood of more than 53 chapters across the United States. While our organization has expanded, our mission has never changed: to serve our communities with compassion, dignity, and purpose.

This year, we are both humbled and honored to host our first Community Baby Shower. Our goal is to provide essential resources, encouragement, and hope to more than 150 expectant mothers in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. We recognize the tremendous responsibility that comes with serving so many families, and while we are excited, we are also grateful for the opportunity to continue the work that began with a simple vision over a decade ago.

Every diaper collected, every baby wipe donated, every volunteer who gives their time, and every sponsor who supports our mission helps us ensure that no mother feels alone. Together, we are not just hosting an event—we are building stronger families, healthier communities, and a brighter future for the next generation.
